Sudip Bandopadhyay's Health Prevents Participation in Diplomatic Missions

Sudip Bandopadhyay, a Member of Parliament from the Trinamool Congress, has announced that he will not be able to participate in the government's diplomatic missions being sent to various countries due to health issues following Operation Sindoor. The government has revealed plans to dispatch seven all-party delegations to key partner nations, including members of the United Nations Security Council, by the end of this month. This initiative aims to convey India's message of zero tolerance towards terrorism in light of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam and Operation Sindoor.

Communication from Parliamentary Affairs Minister

Bandopadhyay shared that he received a call from Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and the Ministry of External Affairs, inviting him to travel to the United States. However, he informed them of his inability to attend due to health concerns. According to a statement from the Parliamentary Affairs Ministry, the all-party delegation will present India's national consensus and firm stance against terrorism in all its forms and expressions. They aim to project a strong message of zero tolerance towards terrorism to the world.

Careful Selection of Delegation Leaders

The government has meticulously chosen leaders to head the delegations, ensuring they come from various political backgrounds and are regarded as strong voices beyond political divides. BJP MPs Ravi Shankar Prasad and Baijayant Panda, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha, DMK's Kanimozhi, NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule, and Shiv Sena's Shrikant Shinde will each lead a delegation. The ministry's statement also noted that each delegation will include distinguished diplomats.
